ABOUT

For Marilize Stander, Physiotherapy is a passion and a calling. As a 4 year old she suffered from asthma and was introduced to the world of Physiotherapy. Since then, she knew that she was meant to be a Physiotherapist and in 2009 she graduated with a degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Pretoria.

After her community service at Tshwane Rehabilitation Center in Pretoria, where she gained vast experience in the treatment and rehabilitation of patients with Spinal cord injuries and Neurological conditions, she relocated to the Northern Cape Province in 2012 where she worked at a private practice in a rural setting. During this time she also worked part- time at a private practice servicing Krugersdorp Hospital where she was able to treat patients in an acute hospital setting.

In 2018 she had the opportunity to open her own hospital and out -patient practice in the town of Kathu and has never looked back! Here she provided services to the local hospital, as well as the mining, SANDF and farming communities and were able to treat a great variety of conditions. During this time she was also responsible for treating patients with occupational injuries (IOD) and gained valuable experience in this field.

In 2023 she established the new Helderkruin practice after moving back to Johannesburg and she is excited to continue her Physiotherapy journey in this beautiful suburb in Roodepoort.

Marilize is a registered Physiotherapist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA), the South African Society of Physiotherapy (SASP), as well as a member of the Private Sector and Pain Management Physiotherapy Group (PMPG)
